I recommend you get some .21 hydro props to try. I am not familiar with the K&B .21 drum motor, but i would think a ABC H-4 H-5 or 50X69 would be all ok to try. If you can contact Andy Brown he could give you set-up info also. Hope this helps, and good luck with your Eagle. Richard D

Robin;

run the picco pipe as i sent it to you. i ran that pipe on the last k&b drum 21 that i owned.

as for props, try the 1440 first off, then you can try progressively larger ones.

dumb question: does that motor have the round rod or the standard looking rod in it?

try and set the head clearance to around .008" if you can to start with.

the little k&b's don't like TOO big a prop.

Robin;

almost forgot, i have some new propotype 21 props we can try on that boat that i got from ABC props and see what we find.

carl & richard, i already know that most of my tunnel props will be too small for optimum performance. but, i have been told to start on the small side, find the/a setup & launchability first. that way i'm not fighting too much prop, plus trying to get a handle on everything else. the motor can have whatever rod i build it with, i have no less than 7 different oem k&b .21 rods! they damn sure changed the rod more than any other single part in the .21 motors. remember, carl, all i do is .21 k&b, i've got parts ;) . 2 brand new/unused round ones, too B) . although, it will prolly be a geraghty built motor, i'm VERY impressed with the ob's he built me this winter. also, i just realized i never thanked you for the pipe, carl. it arrived the same day we moved (again), and unplugged the computer. then i took a little hiatus from the 'net, trying to get squared away here & at the then new job. THANX, better late than never :rolleyes: . plus, thanx to everyone that has responded so far, keep 'em coming, the help is appreciated. i really would like a copy of the original setup sheets. tried getting up with andy a few times, no luck so far.........

carl, when are you guys starting to run at the centreville pond? i'll have to come over for some testing/help.

we are getting the additional bouys set up the Saturday the 25th (if my math is any good) starting at 11 AM.

we will be doing test and tuning after wards.

we were able to adjust the left side of the course the last time out, but the wind got too strong and we had to cal it a day.

i did manage to sneak out a couple mornings to test the new 21 hydro and it looks very promising. trying out the new cmb 21 pipe and getting the boat dialed in for the up coming season.

bring the Eagle if you can and we can get it going for you.

like i said i have some props that we can try on it as well.

if you can get a hold of the K&B purple carb off the 7.6 inboard, that will also help wake the motor up some. (if memory serves, it was 9mm dia. intake. ( I think the red one was also 9mm.)

been fairly busy so far, what with moving twice this winter, trying to ressurect the equipment at work for mowing season, & getting 3 boats ready for the tunnel champs. i've been quietly collecting parts for the rebuild of the eagle, but won't get started on it in earnest until after charleston. i will try to come over on the 25th to help & test my tunnels & mod vp. i've got 2 or 3 red carbs B) .

since i have a fairly long break in our district race schedule after our next race, figure it's time to get moving on this project. just a bump to see if anyone else has any more input or original setup sheets. still haven't had any luck trying to contact andy.............. i have been told by a previous owner that a 1450 will be too much prop for this boat with a drum rotor k&b (geraghty prepped/ops 3280). ideas?

Robin, here are a few options that have less dia. than a 1450. Octura 1445, ABC 50x69 ABC H-4, H-5. Cup will depend on your set-up and power of motor. Rchard D
