Hello. I am going to build a 40 size cajun bullet rigger and use electric power. I want a very high speed set up, at least 80 mph. I would like suggestions on batteries. esc, motor and props. Thanks very much for your help.

Do you want to oval race the boat, sport run, race SAWs? How much run time do you want? What are the dimensions of the rigger/tub?

.

The "battery compartment" is 3.40" wide, 2.25" tall, and 12" long. The LOA is 35". Two friends and I are going to build three of these just to "fun race" together locally. Thanks for any help.

Assuming that you can configure the hull for the correct CG, here is one option. The boat is really too small for additional power. Unlike a fuel version, when you hit the throttle you have instant power, no waiting for the pipe. Small boats often do not react well to this.

Motor - 1527/1.5D

Cells - 6S2P 4500mAh/30C - these packs will "just" fit in your battery box, it will be close

ESC - Castle Hydra 180HV

Prop - x648 and up

I run a slightly different setup in a 34" cat and it is as fast as the hull will handle. In a rigger it will run very fast and should reach your goal with ease - assuming your rigger's design works for FE. Few fuel boats will transfer directly to FE without some mods to optimize their performance.

A slightly slower and less expensive but still very fast setup - which may fit your hull better:

Motor - 1527/1D

Cells - 4S2P 4500mAh/30C

ESC - Castle Hydra 240LV

Prop - x648

Again with the same caveats - an easy 70-75 mph, probably higher if optimized. It does cost money to go fast with reliability. These setups will be as reliable as you can get today. Operator error changes everything, if this is your first high power FE boat, all bets are off. This is NOT a beginner's model.
