well i am gonna be working on a twin this yr. . ( first one for me )

i am in a pickle for a rudder servo

i DO NOT WANT TO GO DIGITAL

I DO NOT WANT A HI-TECH

so with that said is there any analog 1/4 scale servo's out there besides hi-tech

OR do you think these monster torque all metal gear standard size servo's would hold up

they have more than enough torque.. just not sure how the gear's would hold up, i run them in my 67 boat without issue. but have heard that twins are hard on gear trains in servo's

any help or opinions would be greatly appricated

do you want to use Airtronic #94358Z coreless standard size 200 torque in oz/ 6 volt waterproof seal so you can afford $$$ because if it doesn't work so change new one for back up.

I use my no problem with Hitec HS-755MG Analog (STD 3 pole) 1/4 scale 199 torque in oz / 6 volt for my 2 twin riggers ( Cobra and JaguarIII) so good low price easy replace

I heard that Jr servo heavy duty over 300 torque in oz but I hardly find one at our hobby store

do you decide to choice one ;)

Important one key: linkage pushrod stainless steel 1/8"( heavy duty) than regular 4-40 rod because sometime bend from hit shore or fish and turn oversteer or etc..

look picture my jaguar III's rudder

Chris

I have bin running a JR HS8711 403 oz/in digital for 3 years and was the first servo I ever bought. Has bin under water so may time I could not count. If I can't destroy it no one can.

Std size servo? does not have a chance. gears too little for any major torque...... They wont hold a Single 90 hydro straight....

Have had the same standard size servo in my 90 hydro for the last 8 years and it has never failed?

I also will not run Hitec servos, it's Futaba all the way for me. I'm gonna try the digitals, I've heard good things about them.

The Futaba 9157 has made all the 1/4 scale servos obsolete. Battery technology is making analog servos obsolete.

I got Hitech servos in Every Boat I Own. Never had a Single Problem........ p.s. if water & Digitals dont mix? Keep the water out of your radio box!!!!

No Problem on the third link...on the analog servo links...good price on the Hobbico 1/4 scale if you are on a budget...I have used hobbico standard BB & 1/4 scale servos in planes & 60 boats (no twins) with no problem. Digital 1/4 scale Servo all the way in twins..they have the best holding power & centering power & use lipo battery power for the radio & servos. If you are getting water in your radio box...you have a leak...have a vent on top of your radio lid to fight against water condensation...after every heat put the tape...no more condensation. Now this information can be for anyone...but you will need to find that leak...but if you cannot find that leak you can always water proof your servos....Just

kidding Chris...on the video

hahahahahahahaha.

The kid in the vid is a "Genus" I'm gonna get a huge spool of black electric tape and wrap all my boats......

lol i get the water in the box thing guys.. been around for quite a while.

but on ocastion you can't help but get condensation.. i have seen where it messes with them bad.

i have heard there are delay's if the servo lose's temperary power. i guess it is one of them things that you just have to face the music and by them because soon all analog servo's will be gone.

joe,

i have no idea how you can use ALL hi-tech's without failure. everyone that i know has had some go bad one time or another.

so if i were you i would go buy lottery tickets today

lol

Chris I ran Futaba`s for years with No Problems, In Twin racing Holding the servo & mounting it is critical to keep the Vib`ssssssssss down..... I have put nothing but HiTech`s in for the pass 7-8 years.... Maybe there product is better than it was in the pass?? Belive me I would not run them if they Gave a Problem......... 1/4 scale hitech servos have the Torque & the Balls (bearings) to get the JOB DONE....... B)
