My friends want to confirm the torque requiere to handle a .21 tunel hull.

Thks.

Also,,,any particular prop recomendation for the TS-3 with OS 21XM ?

I use 140oz Hitec HS-985MG better safe then sorry, some times flipping at high speeds can put stress on a servo.

Great.

And the prop for this hull?
Props are a whole other ball game, which is the end result of boat, motor, or pipe if you run one. all of those three determine what prop you can push. A standard Prop can be a X440 or 1440 with some work done to it.

HiTech 645 133in-oz torque @ 6v

Airtronics 94162Z 144in-oz torque @ 6v

these are more than enough, and both under $35

I'm under the impresion grimracer props are not consider hight performance, right?

X440 or 1440...these one need some set up for use, right? who does the set up?

Miguel, thats not true at all. Nothing wrong with the Grim props. They run just fine. Abit softer then some of the others, but I wouldnt single them out of the "high performance" category. And Mark Sholund, Aaron Alberico, Jimmy Johnson all do props for others.

The instruction manual that comes with the boat should list what the manufacturer suggests for servos, props and initial setup.

Miguel, you are helping me by asking questions that I have as well. GRACIAS! :)

You guys mentioned that Hitech steering servo. What would be a Futaba equivalent?

Hi-tech 645MG is what we have had in 4 tunnels for the last two years only one fried after destroying a bouy. It works great with my Futaba fasst and has more torque than the Futaba 3050. The Airtronics even has more torque yet at 144 @ 6v

De nada!

Maybe a good idea would be to start a thread where we rookies can find all the most important answers.

I used to hang around RC Universe a lot when I was into jets and at the begining finding all the answers was easy.

And the best thing I have mote tons of questions to ask! BTW, thanks to all the guys that so far has supported me with patiens.

Larry, The manual mention 40/52 3 and 40/53...I guess 2 blades are....better?

You know its weird, I used multiplex back in the day, wont go into why, but they were some great servos, what I did like about them is that they also included the holding power of the servo in their spec's. The holding power is not the same as tork, which was one thing that I learned. Try turning your, well don't try it but this is what I did with multiplex, I turned on my radio and turned the wheel full right and lifted the boat up in the air with the weight of the boat in the opposite direction, if the servo slipped, then I changed it out. The worst that I have seen is boats with servos that did not hold in turns and went into another boat. In today's servos that problem my not be a factor. Also a low battery cell will do that too.

Baxter,

Multiplex...german stuff are excellent!

Non digital servos only has the torque especifed at the end of its left of righ travel.

Digital are not like that. They have same torque all the way.

On my boats I'll be using JR8611A...digital, but not everybody are willing to spend too much on that.

Thks,

MS
