I have a Hitec HS81 for my throttle on my scale. I'm having trouble with the throw of the servo. I can get wide open but not full closed. If I adjust one way I mess it up another. It seems like a never ending process. Do they make a servo that has more rotation or do I need to try something else. I'm a little lost.

What radio are you using? Are you able to adjust the "end point"? Have you tried a longer servo horn/arm? Farther out on servo arm and closer in on carb arm will give you more throw....

BTW, the HS81 is known to Give up easily,,, IE: not a dependable servo

Rick I have a Futaba. I can adjust end point and it's maxed out. I'll try what you suggested and yeah the servo has failed on me. Is there a better servo similar in size.

Sam,

I use Hitech HS-85 MG for both throttle and mixture control. No problems in my scale for the last three years.

Sam,

I just had the same problem and was using a HS-85 MG and put a long arm on it and had more throw to open and close the carb correctly.

As Bert stated, the HS85MG is a bit better. I really liked the Hobbico CS12MG,,, too bad they quit making Hobbico servo's!!!
Rick look at the tactic servos, I am going to try one of the tactic tsx55 servo it has more torque than the hitect 645. There are some good mini and micro servor too.

yeah,.. you need a longer servo arm,.. and I have run the Tactic servos also.. A bit noisy,.. but so far so good.

Sam you need the servo arm that has a slider to make more throw, they come with the 85mg or 225 servos. It has a square block and a long arm installs on that and is adjustable to get the proper throw.

I usally set the servo throw at full throttle first maybe with a bit less epa than max then set the closed epa and then use the throttle trim to set the idle positon.

Here is that servo arm set. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXN696&P=7
