Im not looking at it that way- just gonna try thinking outside the box a bit- The motivating factor was running Open Mono in WCRA against the gas boats . If Im gonna fight something at this point , its gonna be something new I MAKE work . The other boats ROCK - but I need to try it...........Besides, if it works- you guys are gonna hate me even worse- Your gonna need a hatch Foley lmao ........

Scott,

I am running the CMB quiet pipe at 12" with an X467 and I got it at 58 with the radar. It is not real fast but runs real nice. I have not really dedicated any time to this boat since it is my sons first boat and i am a rigger guy.

Albert

Albert,

Thanks for the info, I think 58MPH is respectable in a mono (or any boat for that matter) I also have a MACS 15cc muffled pipe that I will also try (after I try the X465 prop).

Scott

I ran her yesterday and after reseting both the hi/Low needles, this motor turned a X470 without bogging down (with no real benifit)! So I went back to the X467 and this boat is now runing great!

Thanks to everyone for their advice.

More pipe length tuning to follow. Currently runing low to mid 50's

keep in mind, when u radar a mono by itself its 3 to 5 mph slower than in heat race..the monos love the chop from other boats...alberts and my sons mono are identicle power(VAC 91), same pipe and

same prop..they are by no means the fastest boats out there but if they stay in lane 1 or 2 nobodys going around them..proven race after race..i am currently modifing a x467 and removing the tongue to

see if we can get more rpm"s and acceleration...im a true beleiver in the VAC 91..

heres some pics with the tongue removed and barr cut at hub

Bret,

These radar readings were taken with the boat alone and very light chop on the coarse. So I do expect to gain a few MPH. Thanks for the pics of the x467, lets know how that works out.

Who knows, maybe there is a 91VAC in my future, but for now this 91HR is just fine, I really like this motor.

Regards,

Scott

Scott, if you like the 91HR you will LOVE the 91VAC. B)

I also run one in a 44" duser and it`s quick..

Scott,

You should have something else to try today.

Thanks For Your Patience,

Mark

Andy,

I ran the prop yesterday afternoon. The boat has definately got more speed now but I can't really tell how fast. The boat has so much prop walk that I am having a difficult time controlling it. I have to add a lot of left rudder (along with full left trim) to keep the boat straight at full trhrottle. I am running a anti-walk strut already.

The moment I let off the throttle the boat hooks to the left (because I have all of the trim added). Does anyone know how to solve this issue? I know that prop walk will always be an issue to a certain extent but this is so bad that I really cannot maintain control of the boat around the course.

Check the servo ....make sure it is not bad, You do have SD hardware on the boat...? Nothing esle will work. If servo is good and Strut is good. I would look at the prop.

All running hardwware is from Jerry at Seaducer. Streering servo is a digital quarter scale HS 5745MG. Strut and steering components look good. Remember I didn't have this issue before changing to the X467 V cut prop.

If Nothing has changed on the boat.........except the prop. To much prop. Rasing the strut will free up the prop...........But it will free up the boat. If you like the current strut settings ............I would get the M-90 or prop. V-cut 467 is not the cure all for every motor/pipe.............combo.

Raise the strut.
Also small amount of weight on the port side outside of the stringer near the engine will help some . sometimes mounting the strut just left of centerline (1/16") helps as well even with the anti walk strut . Don't trim the rudder to the left just add it if you need it as you run . JMHO
