Hello All,

I recently upgraded my powerplant to a CMB 91HR (see recent gallery additions for pictures).

Questions regarding pipes;

I have 2 MACS pipes #1399 (15cc muffled) and a #1385 (13cc open). I have read that the 101RS and 91VAC work well with the 13cc pipe, does the same apply for the 91HR? Which do you recommend? If you have another pipe that works with this set up let me know please.

I have the new stlye CMB header (22mm OD) and read that it should "telescope" inside the MACS pipe (both of these). But they are both about the same size as the header (the header doesn't fit inside). Should I cut the pipe down to the taper point (where it widens) so that the header will fit inside? How did you set yours up (cut the header etc..)? if you have pics please post.

Which prop? I was using a X467 with my previous powerplant.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Scott

Scott you need to get someone to weld you a 1 inch head pipe into your pipe of choice. ( you will have to cut off the 7/8 head pipe that is on it now) Then it will telscope onto the pipe & header. This keeps the flame off the header material.

Yes, Mac makes a #1394 15cc & #1384 13cc pipe that has a 1 inch head pipe built into the pipe. It does telescope over the ( thin wall) 91 VAC Header. If your buying a new pipe?? This pipe allows easy fit without doing any mods or welding. they normally have them in stock.

Tom,

I just got a Seaducer 44 with the VAC91 for my son. What pipe length and prop are you running on your boat. After running my Crapshooters this thing feels sooooooooo sloooooooooowwwww. :D

Thanks to Tom Foley's help with the pipe welding, I finally got to run this boat yesterday after the lake thawed out.

I was running the 13cc macs pipe (1385) set at 12" with the X467 prop and the fuel was rich. I couldn't get past 30MPH.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

By the way I really like the motor (thanks again Bret).

Drop back on the prop 1 size till you get a felling on the boat and eng setup.

the eng may be running to cold and not coming up to temp, use at least 50% nitro to start and a OD99 plug.

your 13cc MAC pipe is" fair" . use better CMB AB.67 black pipe set up 11.75" with telescope and will be fast contact at Jerry Crowther sell best prop: M-90 Good Luck!

I took David's advice and droped the prop size down to a X462, (it was the only prop I had on the smaller size) The radar gun now says 50MPH. Thanks David. The RPM seems a bit too high now? The boat was running well (the fastest I have ever seen) and on the second tank the motor made a pop sound (like a backfire) and suddendly quit. Dockside the motor turns over freely and the plug was toast (the element was pushed in). i haven't checked the motor out completely but i think its OK. I will try a X465 next time.

Great news Scott. the X465 should work good on that eng and pipe. The AB 67 muffled works good on lite riggers.

The MAC13cc is a good pipe just open up the stinger to .470. This same pipe will turn my 1.01 at over 27000 at 11 1/2"

Shorten the pipe after you try the X465 with where it is at now.

Monos like the bigger pipe with that eng.

David

Guys baby steps. You don't just jump a girl on the first date.

Well I forgot who we are talking with.

Heck I could have told him to gust pop a MW3 on it and raise the strut.

Don't forget to notch the radio box ?? - Just sayin - lol
Yes you are right.

Sound like you are doing something out of the box????

Don't let Jerry know.

Dude in the new Rico the shaft is strait out the back no bend at all and no where near the box. :D

Going to run a solid 1/4 drill shaft on ceramic bearings is the plan. ;)

Dave , truth be told BOTH my mono's have me so pissed right now- there are in time out. Riverview is questionable.
