Joe, I fully understand what you're talking about. If you are going to run a razor sharp turn fin or rudder and your boat does die during a race, I think that a warning to the retrieve boat crew would be in order. Yes, we have learned, most of the time by personal experience, the props are sharp, tuned pipes get hot but not used to turn fins being so sharp yet.
Do we need warning signs all over our hulls? "Caution, very sharp turn fin!"? Possibly. We've seen stupider lawsuits.
