I hate to even ask this, but i just looked at the IMPBA rulebook for RTR class and it says that a starting belt is not allowed and the stock exhaust system must be used .....my RTR has a starting belt and a different tuned pipe as the only class there had been offered down here was Mod RTR, so do i need to put my stock pipe back on and use a recoil starter? I just want to be legal! :)

I just looked at it and here it is,

Production RTR ( Alternative to Production ABS. Trial period 2005)

I think it is outdated!!! or doesn't apply.

Propulsion and Control Systems

Single glow engines with a maximum displacement of 0.165 cubic inches may be utilized.

Starting method can be recoil or on board electric. External electric, belt start will not be

allowed. Exhaust system must remain in the stock condition as the boat was received in the

RTR box. All boats will exhibit positive engine control with full stop capability to insure

safe retrieval. Any aftermarket propellers may be used and boats will receive propulsion by

in the water propellers.

What about the .165???

Does this really mean all Vegas's are illegal??

Bill,

I think they may be having a time classifying "A RTR"

I believe it is under review and when they start giving out jackets it will be more clear.

The Class has exploded in interest as you can tell.

Alot of other people will be having the same issues if you do.

1 boat will win by Default.... LOL

Tim

P.S. Call the CD and find out.

Tim, thats what i read on the IMPBA site.....guess ill just wait till i get an answer...and bring what i need to make the boat legal if i dont! :)

Bill here is what I found out from the IMPBA Technical Director:

Reguarding your 1st post statement having to do with Exhaust and starter belts.

He stated that everyone was using starter belts up his way so there must be a way to keep your original starting method and still be able to use a belt.

You can use a Starter belt but your out of the box starting method must remain intact.

You have to use the out of the box exhaust system.

Hope this doesnt keep you from running it!
