RTR for my 8 yr Daughter

Next year there should be only 4 boats in RTR racing icluding your daughter so be good to learn at times maybe 5 be a great class for her to learn in.

Are tunnel o/b good first boats? such as a top speed 2? I would think it would be good since you can turn right and left, but I don't know if they allow them in rtr classes (because its an almost-rtr). Just throwing it out there.

No Ray they are not considered RTR to make a RTR legal must be manufactured be a .15 to .18 these boats are pretty much Aquacraft and Pro boat, the outboard .21 is a good starting boat also if you have never driven a boat and just gettig started the RTR is way to go very cheap and lots of fun.

Bummer...then my vote is the sv27 nitro, unless she gets practice on the hydros. I let my 6 yr old son drive the Miss Vegas Deuce and he was trying to make the same 180 turns that he can make with the Mini rios...not good. BUT, with more time and proper coaching, I'm sure he would do fine...just like your girl. Since you have the knowledge and know how, the Vegas's are hard to compete with. For the original Vegas, in order to compete with SV27's and the Vegas Deuce, an upgraded engine should be considered as well as some hull mods.

I think it's awesome that your lil' one wants to run boats.

The super vee 27 nitro is a great starter boat a very forgiving boat for a newcomer thats the boat i bought my wife and she loves it and doing great with it first time racer and in second place high points.

Well i Have ordered my daughter a red super Vee im looking forward to teaching her how to drive. I just hope she doesn't start out driving me.LOL.quick questions. in the rtr class does she have to keep the radio that comes with the vee or can i upgrade the radio to a 2.4?

You can use any radio you want Jeremy....let me know how its goin with your daughters progress....Christmas is just around the corner so i gotta make up my mind what im gonna get for my grandaughters! Have fun man!

I'm suprise that nobody even mentioned the UL-1 FE.hydro..I think she would really love it and you too. It's out of the box fast..

She would not be able to race the FE since we do not have them here and also cant run FE with nitro
