I would like to know what is the best way to run in this engine? Should I just run it in the water or just put it on the rich side and leave it on the ground? How many turn of the needle for running in.

I hope the Rossi guru will give me a few opinion on this.

Run rich, open needle 5-6 turns or as many as will allow the motor to still run. Rich condition is indicated by sputtering and smokey exhaust. Run a minimum of two tanks of fuel through before starting to turn in on needle (lean). Run rich longer if you can have a little patience. I have always run in a new motor in the water. This can be done out of the water being careful not to rev high and have cooling connected and monitor carefully to avoid overheating.
