Ok folks. I really don’t know what to ask for this particular Motor. I know what it is. I know when it’s from. I know it was the first of its kind. I did the research and it’s got all the documentation and is also Etched. “Not Stamped” as motors are today. With all that out of the way.

Here I have a Rossi 65. Brand New In the bag. Along with the box. Is all the documents. The 3rd channel thread needle. The specs. As of course. Spare set of ORings. There good. This is a timeless piece of Model Boating History and personally. I feel it should go to the right person. I am new here. I am Green. However I am not green in any since of the color to Nitro or RC. Hobbies. Please don’t be that person. lol. I do have a dollar amount in mind. Well. I’m not sure how it works on here. But I have learned a lot in the short time it’s taken me to go from land/water on here. So Thank You all.

Also. Check it!!! I think this is pretty cool.
Well. Here she is. LETS GOO!!! 🔥🔥🔥

My apologies to everyone. I’m a little green to the site. I’d be willing to take 425.00$ shipped. Lower 48. International pays shipping.

As per the rules you need to set a price.

That being said I sold three complete in great shape Rossi 67's with spare new P/S and rods and other parts for $300. I ran them in scale for years and they are good engines they just can't keep up with the new engines out there now.

P.S. By the way that's a 67 not a 65 the 65 case is different and that is the first of the Rossi 67 marine engines.

I'm not up on Rossi history but it does say 65 on the case.

Nobody runs .65’s anymore,,.. just worth scrap value in aluminum,,, send it to me and I’ll dispose of it for you for free…

Just kidding… I’m sure there is someone out there that just loves old Rossi’s … GLWYS .. 😁👍👍👍
I know brother. Also guys out here like myself that if they blow up a motor. I stick it in the oven. Heat it up. It swells enough to get the piston out. Then I’ll ckean it up. Replace the rings and all that it entailed. Just want it to go to the right person. Share it if that’s possible. Thx Bud!!!

The Rossi engines, blue and black head, all were cast as 65's....saved them money on casting tooling....
.65 in³ and .67 in³ used the original '65' case....they were just bored slightly to accept the slightly larger bore .67 sleeves.

I had a blue head .67 back in early/mid 80's that was a screamer, and was very durable.

No rings in the performance nitro engines, like that Rossi.

My Dad ran a couple of Rossi 65’s before the version you have . The Rossi in the boat Ad you posted was a completely different earlier version than the engine you have for sale, zoom in on the crankcase and you will see how Rossi is casted on the case and that’s one difference that’s easy to see. You mentioned rings in this thread, you may know but yours is definitely ABC. With no parts available you have been given a really good offer.

Thanks for the response Brian!
I can offer $350 shipped for my "nostalgia" build but for much more, I become more inclined to just install the CMB already waiting on me.

I understand the values you put on this engine and don't disagree for the exact right person, it's just that our values aren't 100% aligned.

For example, I would pay $425 and maybe more for less of an engine NIB Super Tigre G65 for this particular boat so I could build exactly as it as was originally intended in the late 70's when my dad started it...using exh. throttle & water cooled head we made and good ole side exhaust stack. Kid me in the 80's put it in a Sk daddle 40 with an OS carb and wore it out. This Rossi a better fit than the CMB in this WingDing for me....I'd say it fits my plan about 82% as well as a good/NIB G65 would. ;)

I agree, I mean I have an old wing ding and NIB OPS .65 and.60 motors….never been run.

Would I sell them? maybe to someone doing a restoration and has a need for a vintage motor or hull and wants to re- live a past history..

But it’s supply and demand,, and asking too much for a vintage non competitive motor that is parts obsolete has to go to the right person or it will generate no interest…

I think that there are some good offers in here for the OP…

Yeah no I know. But I’m a fabricator as well as a contractor in the State of Florida. That’s why I was saying to a guy that can make parts if needed.

I get all that. Just the History alone is flipping cool A$ _______!!!!! If someone has an older Dumas kit or something. They could run it and show it. Just my thoughts. If I don’t get around what I think it’s worth. Then I’ll probably just find an old kit and put it in myself.
