Hi All,

I fabricated a 3 foot rigger with G26 with Octura drive and rudder. It will not turn.

I have tried adjusting towin and towout which did work. Rudder turns about 35 degrees left and right. Also, carries left sponsin in the air under full power down strainght away. Will make extremely wide turns to the right.

Also, rigger is 'porpoising' a little.

Can someone please help with suggestions? :(

Do you have a turn fin? If so, it should be close to 3" face width and 2"-3" Below the sponson with a cup or roll in the bottom. The trailing edge of the fin needs to be about 1" in front of the CG.

Hi Chuck

This is a complex issue but let's see what do you have now:

Boat "porpoising" sometimes means that the strut angle is too much negative and forces the bow of the rigger to dig.

Check up the attach angle of your front sponsons that must be around 3 degrees.

Strut angle starting at 1 - 1.5.

Strut height same depth that front sponsons

Is the rudder offset?

Which prop are you using? Props with high lifting also tend to down the bow.Is it balanced?

As said are you using a turn fin?.Stick to the bend ones that ensure better turns.

Hope this help

Gill
