Gene,

Yeah - it's repairable but the paint looks s#1tty. Gotta get my hands on another pipe. My flashy looking CF radio box lid is gone too so I'll have to make up another one of those, get another waterproof arial and on/off switch too.

Tim.

Hey Tim,

Great Racing dude, thats the way to do it... Man you mucked up the SG  , Sorry to hear that, I guess it is a race boat  ....

Mike,

I can't see any other way of mounting the pipe other than on the lid. It's a longer boat than the normal 67 SG (it's an 80SG) and I run my pipes very short.

I am open for suggestions tho' - seeing how I have to start from scratch again

Craig,

Sorry bud - I wasn't in possession of the camera much and was CD'ing as well otherwise I would have got some. Would Ian's cowl fit?

Ian,

thinking of using the old Stinger cowl... but wouldnt mind seeing your cowl to see if it suits. So who does the glass work then??? Maybe CF would be the go???

Craig,

I have a cowling vac formed out of clear plastic for a Hummer 76-80 pics are somewhere on here, if you can't be bothered making one I can get another one formed if you like.

Hmmmm clear plastic???? no canary yellow to match the boat???? LOL

Spose it could be sprayed from the inside :)

Craig,

The cowl will fit! I have used it on mine with a K-90 but I had an OS 9B carb with reduced venturi, you may need to cut the MAC carb venturi a bit.

I made mine from 4 layers of carbon, but it would have been easier from glass cloth. I just hate fiberglassing!! :p Do you know someone who could use the mould to make you a cowl?

Nitrocrazed racing: Hate that itch...

Ian's cowl looks pretty good - shame he won't make you one!

Mark - what sort of plastic is it? Polycarbonate?

Tim,

Congrats on your win. Speedmaster makes some good pipe mounts.

Ian,

Have a plan at the moment and will see if it comes to fruition. States for me is looking bad unfortunately... :(

Pipe mounts on radio box lids??? You guys are nuts!!!

Try a little aluminium angle that bolts onto the bulkhead at the back of the radio box and another piece bolted to that going forward to meet the pipe.... A lot less drenched radios and lost pipes. :)
