Finally wore them out, called and you have to buy the whole motor. WTF?

Anyone found a replacement or have a junker they could pull some from?
 
Well they're 1/4" square so hopefully they'll be easier to find than the ones for my Shop-vac...

Seriously.....Take your starter to your local auto starter & generator rebuild and repair shop.....
I would be willing to bet there is a standard set of brushes
sitting in their inventory to fit your starter.....They can also take larger brushes and sand them down to fit........
 
Looks like they were about 1/2".

I found several 1/4" x 1/4" brushes on on the Helwig site but they all had a round stub where a spring sits.

These are flat since they use a seperate spring.

Thanks, I'll turn the comm down while I'm at it.

Unfortunately those brushes won't work, I need the pickup wire on the end. :(
