Great example of a photo being deceiving. At first glance anyways. LolAlan,
3/16” width, 1-3/16” dia. , 1/8” shank and 80 grit. Mine are by Merrit and safe to 30,000 rpm.
John
Danny, didn’t mean to be deceiving, explain please. Thanks JohnGreat example of a photo being deceiving. At first glance anyways. Lol
Here’s some pics of what I use. FYI, my hands have have surgeries and I know Mark and others use different tools but this works for me. These are the adjustable wrenches I use and the anvil I use to work props.View attachment 291004View attachment 291004
You weren’t John. At first glance it seemed the flapper wheel was much bigger then the actual dimensions. Nothing you did.Danny, didn’t mean to be deceiving, explain please. Thanks John
Thanks Danny, as you know you can send me any prop you have and I will work it to best of my ability. The garuntee is 5 feet or five seconds which ever comes first!!!You weren’t John. At first glance it seemed the flapper wheel was much bigger then the actual dimensions. Nothing you did.
You can do that same thing with a 2 part puddy that I got from west mariine. I have made prop molds with it. I just mount a shaft in a block of wood. Then spray prop with WD40. Then mix up the puddy and shape it to fit the blade area. Works awesome. It is the old school to make prop duplicators. Here is a link to a simialr product to what I use.I knew a guy that used some sort of dental material to mold a prop once he was satisfied with the way it worked....his wife got it from a place she worked..... it hardened enough so that he could hammer on it..... I remember he had some 1667 molds that were awesome!!
Hummmmmm? Want to bet on it? I’m kinda new to this stuff but the old principles still apply, not sure how you used to work Octura props but the way I used to still seems to work for me.Guys you can not play with the 38 bar props like the old Octura props. When I get the time I will post some things I found out about the 38 bar props. Thy only have a few blade pitch profiles and use the boost pitch to come up with the pitch ratios. Yes BOOST pitch not cup. Get cup out of your mind when you talk about the 38 bar props.
I think you need a vacation! Something where you go swimming in a high mountain stream! So when you’re as old as me you’ll have great memories of fishing trips in the high country.See I got you thinking now did I not?
Staying at the Dalenback ranch in a cabin right on the river. Will contemplate the next move with the wisdom that I do not know it all yet.Yup, I’m jealous, it’s been many years since my last trip to the Bow!
