Very cool website Bob. I like the lake too. It looks pretty wide and nice and long.......boy, that sounded bad....

Well mother nature turned a windy and wet hand for us. We rolled into town Wed. afternoon and got to Lake X Thursday morning to some rather "breeeeezy" conditions. Slowly as the day wore on the winds backed down little by little but at the same time the dark clouds continued to build. John Finch spent some time in the "not close enough" water breaking in a new SAW motor in his LSG sport hydro and as it calmed down a little further Steve Sutton was able to make a few runs with his LS27 mono and John did a few blasts with the sport hydro but it was still a tad rough. For me I kept waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting. Finally it started looking like I was going to get my chance but as I prepped the twin the rain started in. I managed one series of passes with a warm up blast over 105 but could tell that the rain was not agreeing with those wide open carbs. I brought the boat in and set up with the bigger props hoping for another shot but it was not to be, the rains just kept coming harder and after a while we decided to pack it in. Today was a wash out with rain and wind with the same forecast for Saturday so we headed home and I just got unloaded and settled in. While it's unfortunate that mother nature did not yield the conditions we were hoping for this site is one to be seen. The area we ran in is 750 feet WIDE and has enough run up room at either end that you can go as far as your nerve will permit and not run out of water. The site itself is awesome, Bob's brand new IMPBA certified equipment set up quickly and performed perfectly even in the "less than ideal" conditions. There is another SAW event scheduled at Lake X in October and this is one to check out for sure. :)

A BIG thanks to Bob for having us and hopefully mother nature will be a bit nicer in the fall. B)

Those new timing eyes are sure easy to set up and they shoot far. I helped Randal set them up and got close to 1000 feet between sencers and had great readings. Ony problem was that I had the moving sencer and was in the sun during testing while Randal stayed nice and cool in the shade of trees along the street close to my place.
