I buy large latex ballons from a party store. They come in packs of 24, 72, 144. You can also find them at Walmart.

I'm not looking to spin this off topic or start a pissing match , but why balloon the receiver if you can keep the box dry instead ?? I have heard some guys say they leave the terrarium -I mean radio box - taped down for weeks or more on end. Why ??

If your box is sealed properly, you simply add some folded paper towels or tampons or whatever (as backup), charge your pack the night before the races, tape down and your done for the weekend in most cases. I think the bag adds to the receivers chances of holding moisture and humidity ???? Esp on a hot humid day. There have been races in the middle of summer down here that I have untaped the box between rounds , just to let it breath, no water intrusion- just a lot a of sweat. A little extra tape for the weekend is cheap insurance.

I use the small baby containers used ballons before but i think these are the best oh also condoms work great lol Robert

Im with you on the RX balloons, no need unless your radio box leaks-- I also remove the case on some of my rx's and use battery pack shrink wrap over them less space and can see if the board itself is moist--- if room permits velcro it to the side of the box off the floor

Find yourself a party supply store, what you looking for are Hellium quality ballons.

I wrap my RX in a folded paper towel to ward off any condensation concerns, and acts as an extra cushion also.

And yes Andy, my boxes are dry, but you never know when someone runs you over, opening your radio box to the elements.

You do it your way, I'll do it the way that has worked for me for 25 years, hows that sound!!!

Terminator, send me a PM with an address, I'll send you some ballons that work great, OK

Off shore electrics....the yellow receiver balloons they have are THICK. I also try to blow up any receiver balloon I use when I take it off to find them small holes, before the water finds them.

I also use a folded up paper towel in my box as insurance too.

I think the use of a balloon is cheap compared to the price of a fried receiver. Kind of like insurance on a car...sux to pay for it...but roll a car into a ditch and you will be glad you had it.

I went there after posting, and their web site showed that they are out of the receiver baloons. You can always shoot Steve an Email there and see when they expect to get them back in.

SEE District III is just one, big, happy delusional family. But you left out one... you haven't been HEARLLED lately, so your still ahead of the game... Randy

I've been using disposable baby bottle liners for a few years now, they're cheap and you get a lot in a box. I still use Aero-Plate for added insurance on the RX's and servos.

No way am I going to use condoms on my receivers, my wife is giving mr enough hassle right now for coming home too late from out playing with the boys! I'd have some 'splainin' to do if she found tampons in the radio box or toolbox also.

I am with Ron i use the disposable baby liners work great i wrap paper toweling around them for condinsation. Robert
