No joke Brad. I get people coming in for a job who can't figure out a bolt circle with or without a canned cycle in a DRO. As far as figuring out an angle and using a sine bar, they don't even know what a sine bar is.

That's why I commonly refer to it as "That rag you've got hanging on your wall."

I've worked with (and for) far too many "engineers" who couldn't engineer their way out of a wet paper sack, let alone recognize the proper tool for the job. I had one once ask me "Why is a left handed threaded hole such a big deal? Can't you just tap it from the other side?" And he was the guy quoting the work and deciding my pay.

To me, if you've not gotten your hands dirty in the field of your degree, you're not an engineer. You just got a rag on your wall. Period.
