will, did they cut the whole bottom of the nose of the cowl out, or just the lip that hooks under the center section of the boat? i've gotten dumas 3.5 sprint cowls 2 different ways from dumas. 1 is with an abs chin piece, that is trimmed & glued under the nose of the cowl. that was on a replacement cowl from dumas. in the kits, you shape a piece of balsa block, glue that in the nose of the cowl, flush with the bottom, & then add a piece of plywood under it, to hook under the center section. a replacement cowl is like $18 from dumas, or the wood block method should fix yours........see ya at greenbrier!!

The way I do Dumas cowls is instead of install with the balsa block I use a piece of 1/4" ply, lightened by drilling holes with a forsner bit glued flush with the bottom. Then glue your over hang plate, 5/32" ply, which attaches cowl to the bottom. If you want you can inforce with fiberglass tape up on the inside. Alot more work?, yes, but they take hits and bumps alot better. ;)
