Q.what type of motor mount for JAE21 nitro

Hello all,,I would like to know what motor mount others are useing on the JAE21G2 (nitro)boat..

I do have the one that bolts to the wood blocks but,Iam not sure i like the idea of just screwing the motor down with a few wood screws..

I would think there is others out there,,

Iam use to useing the type that bolts through the tub sides but,,if the one that comes with the kit holds up,ill use it

Like to know if there is a better mount out there first!.

Look at the Speedmaster mini hydro mount, the best there is. Speedmaster is listed under the Manufacturer's thread.

We use a delrin motor mount that is similar to an Octura 3" 3-30 solid mount.

I have some small motor mounts that come from Sweden "BB Hardware"

They are very close to what CMDi makes.

I've been useing Joe's mount for 2 going on 3 years. I did need replacing the rubber grommets from Lowes ,with Hillman K4 grommiets 7/16 OD X 3/16 ID

Nitro is bad on rubber. They work great. no problems

I have to agree with Neil , I wasn't to sure of Joe's mount at first but two seasons later and not a single problem with it.

Also think the solid blocks help to strengthen the tub and stop it from twisting as much.

Mark if you are concerned about the wood screws you can use brass 4-40 inserts and then use 3/4" 4-40 socket head cap screws. If you do use the inserts just make there is no exposed un-sealed wood in the hole the insert goes into.

i'm using the stock zipp mounts in my jae .21. no issues so far........

Mark stick to the Zipp mount but use as said brass thread inserts... 6/32" is my personal choice.

The brass inserts with the stock mount seems like it would be ok..

Iam so use to useing the speedmaster type that bolts through the tub but,just might use what came with the boat..

hhhmmm,what to do..Ill think about a bit more...ty again for all your feedback,,
