OK this topic has two purposes...

Firstly I want to get some props for existing and new boats so I was going to place an order with Mark Sholund so I thought all the Aussies could get together an order so we could save on the postage / money charges.

At the same time Mark could spy on this thread and get a bit of warning on what props we will be after.

I know for starters I am after a pair of props for my twin 90 and 2 props for my 45 seaducer (x450/3)...

I'm interested also. Nova21 l/s rigger props. ABC 1716 or 1816 - not sure yet. Also 2516 or 2514 with mods for a high revving 67.

Hey Craig C . Are you coming down to Gippsland this Sunday for our club day/annual general meeting ?

Jason.

Mates Down Under,

I am very busy here at Props-4-U in Traverse City, MI but I have all of

those propellers in stock. My only problem is getting them out in a timely

manner,I have one order that is out 7 weeks right now for one of your mates.

I should have my propwork down to three weeks by the end of the week. I

have been doing a little testing and racing also, and this is putting me behind

a lot. I still need to test so I can see what modifications work and what doesn't.

For Craig I need somemore information on your twin, but I bet a set of worked

2516's or 2616's will be your ticket. Ian you will need a worked 2516 B/C.

Tim, I found out though testing another customers propeller this weekend that

you will want a 1716 or 1717 for that Nova Rossi 21. I am starting to come up

with a few modifications to the newer ABC's propellers. Though a lot of testing

we are zeroing in on some good performance numbers for the new props.

And Craig Knight the x-450/3 is still a great propeller for your application.

Let me know what you mates would like, and I will try my best to get them

down under in a month. :) Phillip your order is almost done,Thank God.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

I could be interested in a prop for a rigger with a MAC 67 which revs even more than TimD's K67!
I have a feeling we will end up with similar or identical 67 props soon. B)

Who's doing the money this time? NOT ME!!!!

I'll work out the funding.

Looks like this should top Philberts order... LOL

And we may all end up with the same 67 prop too.... hehehehe. Just redoing a few things on the bird, like resetting the rear sponsons and strut. Also going to 1/4 stub shaft at the back.

Mark,

My twin is running 2 A90s. Has been running H667s and cupped H38s (may get you to re-pitch them as well). It is the same boat as I had at Detroit but now with rear sponsons. I would probably go the 2616s :)

Craig,

Wise choice you may want to try some H-48's on it as well. I doubt if you will

all have the same 67 Hydro propellers, how are the H-32's working for you?

I thought they were working well the last time we emailed each other. Try not

to get the order too big, I may have a real job very soon so I will cut back on my

propwork very soon if I get employed. My retirement may be over for awhile.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

What is a good prop for an 80 engine with a short pipe in a SG?

Kris,

Will have fuel that is somewhere between 40% and 60%. Depends on how you measure it. (weight using s.g. and hydrometer or volume).

Lake Hyland I believe is the lake name. McDonalds Way???? Try these maps....

Tim,

Short piped 80 motor? Try a 2514 or a 2516 with the cup ground out on the T.E.

aprox. 1/4" up from the hub on the T.E. Then I would recup the T.E. at the 70%

area of the T.E. (Trailing Edge) 6.92" to 7.50" of cup is working well for an 80

motor,a strong 67 motor will pull 6.92" of cup on a 2516 that is back-cut a little.

When you start modifying the propellers you will see how much time it takes to

do a good job, plus you need to have the shop to do it in also. :) Try one of Craig's

H-32's with 5.5" of cup added. You can try up to Aprox. 6.0" on a H-32 without

much trouble. If you can pull 5.5" or better you will be up in the 80's for sure.

Lookout and hold on mate.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Mark,

Thanks for that! I'll have a talk to Craig about the H32's. I have run 5.7" cup on a H32 on the 67 before and it was good for pace but I felt I could have done with a little more lift from the prop. The boat was dragging the transom a little and not cleaning right out on good water but was fine in chop. Strut angle was "agressive". I've since adapted a few Ron Jr. mods to fix that dragging issue and haven't tried that prop again.

I know how much time and work goes into modding props and think for the cost you charge to do them, there is little to no point in doing them myself. B)
