I like the prop chart..... what number should you insert for gear ratio if you have a direct drive?? is it 1?

Also your pitch reference - is that L/E pitch?

Tim

P.S nice idea having that prop calculator on there!

Thanks for all the support.

I thought the prop calculator was kinda cool thing.

I have had GREAT RESPONSE so far. I am always

open to new ideas,so if anyone has any,let me

know. Would also like some ideas on a Holiday

Special if anyone has a few.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Does anybody know of a prop calculator that uses hp, rpm hull type to tell you what diameter and pitch to start with? I looked at the Props for U calculator, but being new to boats, knowing just a pitch and speed desired doesn't tell me enough to make an intelligent choice on prop diameter. There's no way of knowing if the engine I have can turn the recommended prop. Also why do the recommended props from Octura's chart differ so much in diameter/pitch from the props recommended by Prather's charts?

the boat is a sk-daddle too, 27 inch flatbottom, most likely going to be surface drive when it hits the water, engine will be a cv.12 out of a buggy (.56hp) then I might switch to a cvr.15 (1.2 hp) until I can afford a nice .21. thinking about just using one of the mac tuned pipes on it. the boat should weigh about 3-3 1/2 lbs ready to run, and only sits about 1/2 inch in the water at the transom when floating in the bathtub.
