I just received the motor today I won off eBay for 200.00 its new never ran and I just couldn't pass it up. I always wanted one its just a cool looking engine but I might just keep it as a desk ornament if I cant find parts for it. I didn't realize it was this old when I bid on it.
I wonder how strong of an engine it is . I thought I would find a rigger to put it in someday but I wouldn't want to run it if I cant get even a rod for it if it breaks one.

I would have sold you the engine you actually needed for less than what you paid for that one.
I am just a huge os fan and I remember seeing these when I was younger and always loved the look of them was why I bought it . I know a cmb or picco would have had more power. I didn't really have the money to spend on it but it said it was new so I bid on it and won it. What do you have ? any pictures ?

They are good engines, I ran one in the 90’s in an AC magnum and spun an X-450/3 prop. Rods were similar to the vrm engines in that they would bend on the third dunking or hydraulic lock. Sleeves were nickel plated and you don’t want to run it lean ever. When you bought the engine, the header and flywheel were extra cost options that you need.

The rod availability might make me resell it someday if I can't find a couple .Which is a shame I really wanted to try it. I thought that maybe I could get a rod or two to have spares but I guess I am a few years too late on this engine. This one supposedly has a abc sleeve in it from what I have researched but I know os used that nickel coating through the 90s 2000s so even though it looks like a abc sleeve it might be nickel coated.
