Hi Terry,I have no doubt that I could find them on that very site, somewhere

under "Spiral Bevel", but I would have to have all The Freaking Measurements!

Gawd! Is there anything in this Hobby where you Don't Have to Put-Up The Engineers Degree every time you want To Do Sumthin",,SHEESH!

I'll tell That story again later Nick,,It was "Hilarious",,it actually happened!

Terry, I've gave alot of thought of "adapting" a more powerfull engine on the TT

lower for a long time. I did have an "Ofna" RC Truck engine that the TT PTO back

plate seem to fit pretty good. But still, it was an Ofna

If I was serious into O/B I'd mount a "hot" new motor to that lower unit and take advantage of it!

Terry,

I was going to do the exact same thing a while back, but I couldn't get a crankshaft for a Novarossi that had the pin for a PTO. The TT lower end has a lot going for it, such as having the trim adjustment behind the steering pivot, and the reduced shaft drag and gears allowing the motor to run in the "normal" direction..

TT engines are made in Taiwan, and the measurements are metric.

The lower gear in the pair has the square drive machined into it for the drive cable.

I can try to track down some reduction gear sets here - if I find some - who wants what?

The 1.24:1 gave great results, but there is a downside. Gear reduction = torque multiplier. Torque in a tunnel can cause some wierd handling issues!

Yeah Nick, The "Steelhead" were "taking" the bait "real lite" around that time, and

you had to be "Right on Top" of the "tap". So Quick reflexes was the "key",,And Boy! Did it Come OFF Quick!! Just like a Full Set of Trout "Dentures" Hanging on

the Hook,,Right In Front of My Face  My fishin' friend,,Could Not Stop Laughing' but I just felt sorry for the trout,,poor little guy,,only thing he could

eat probably was "cheese bait" :p

Also: The Motor has another advantage thats often "overlooked",,It has a Low Center of Gravity. Look how low the Powerhead is in relationship to the center of the Mount,,nice, compact and tight :)

I sorta "muffed" That just above the "Happy Face"

Is that what you meant Jerry?

I'm going to try the 1.19:1 in the new "Hemi Head" and the X642 in one, and 1.04:1 in the other engine. The third engine (coming later) I want to try a Mod

engine with the stock muffler,, I 'spose a gear reduction would be good there, as that set-up will probably turn some perdy good Rev's.

Wonder if any of the pull start motors would have a crank with enough "meat" on the end to drive the PTO? Other than that I guess you'd be into making a crank, or maybe pressing a pin in the end of the existing crank pin.

Know what you mean about the torque, it's a bit of an issue in my mono too. I put the tank on the left and that seems to work well.

Could someone post a good shot of the gears?

Did the Ofna crank have something there to drive the PTO?

Hi Terry, Not on that engine, I used a "starter box" cause it was in a Kyosho 1/8

scale Baja rig. I remember the back/plate fitting in the Ofna and the bolt layout

was Dam close,,this had to be 1995 or 96.

 DuhH?! I just woke-up late and I'm just a little

THE OFNA DIDN"T HAVE A PULL STARTER, uhem,,so nuthin' was there to get-a-hold of the PTO :)

This is a ten year old post but do any of u guys still have these gears and know if they r still around....I am really surprised that no one has used this lower with a car motor and dif gears.....I have a set of dif gears but don't know the ratio of them who can u tell...
