OK GUYS,

This is like picking a women, everybody has a preference !!! Balancing is not the problem,2 blades

parallel the blades horizontally, 3 blades the up blade must be straight up 0 degrees.

Now the biggy, do you buff with cutting rouge only the back edge, drive dog side, of the blade until you get a sharp edge? Then start to cut the face side to a razor sharp edge staying to the rear more than the top or[face of prop] .

I know to start the edge with a file but from the back [drive dog] or front [nut side] ?? I use to work for a tool company UTICA TOOLS, sharping and polishing pliers, so I'm not totally stupid !!! I have polished with a 16" cloth wheel & different rouges on some surgical tools. But mostly with 50# and 220-320 grit sanding belts. 3"wx8'L

I NEED TIPS PLEASE !!!

i know a lot of people believe this means a propeller is balanced. I usually balance mine so that it never stops in the same place twice when you spin it.

The way I see it, on a balancer the heavy part always goes to the bottom. If you spin it and it stops at the same spot every time then the part that is down must be the heavy part.

Am I alone in my thinking?

I just sat here and wrote 8 paragraphs on the balancing of 3 & 4 blade props and all about the different polishing wheels and different rouges. Also were to find articles on balancing multi blade props and hit ALT+S to post and Damn it !!! I wasn't signed in!!!!!! ZAP !!! LOST IT !!!

4:10 am est Time- - - - for ZZZZZZ's

Also sharpen'd 2 blades & learn'd how the process works, answer'd my own questions

THANKS ANYWAY

hey people!!!hello from Greece !! nice to have you all cose im alone out here!!

Yo man!!I sent you some instructions that I use!!!sorry for my bad English and my bad drawing skills!hahaha

Chek what I draw you!!!

Also one day while I was surfing in the net I fount a prop page!!!! See it!!

http://surf.to/props

FIRST YOU MUST GET A BALANCER(HORIZONTAL BASE)

SET THE PROP ON YOUR BALANCER AS RECOMMENDED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS.THE HEAVY SIDE SHOULD ROLL TO THE BOTTTOM.YOU MUST SHARPEN, POLISH AND BALANCE YOUR PROP AS YOU REMOVE MATERIAL.FILE OR GRIND MATERIAL AWAY FROM THE ENTIRE FACE OF THE HEAVY BLADE,,BUT CONCENTRATE ON SHARPENING THE LEADING EDGES(THE PART OF THE BLADE THAT YOU SEE WHEN VIEWING THE BLADE FROM THE NOTCH END).THE EDGES MUST BE ALMOST KNIFE SHARP.

ALWAYS TAKE MATERIAL AWAY FROM THE CONVEX SIDE OF THE BLADE,NEVER FROM THE CONCAVE SIDE COSE YOU WILL CHANGE THE PITCH OF THE PROPELLER.

(THIS IS THE SIDE THAT DOES THE WORK).

CONTINUE TO REMOVE MATERIAL AWAY FROM THE HEAVY BLADE UNTIL IT IS NOW SLIGHTLY LIGHTER THAN THE UNTOUCHED ONE.NOW SHARPEN THE UNTOUCHED BLADE UNTIL IT IS SIMILAR TO THE 1ST BLADE.

CONTINUE TO REMOVE MATERIAL AND CHEK BALANCE UNTIL SMOOTH.

CAUTION:CARE MUST BE USED WHEN BALANCING AND REWORKING THE PROP.YOU CAN WEAK THE PROP IF YOU TAKE TOO MUCH MATERIAL!!!!!!DO NOT USE A PROP THAT HAS HAD A LARGE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL REMOVED OR HAS BEEN WEAKENED IN ANY WAY.

THE TRAILING EDGE MUST REMAIN SQUARE.THERE MUST BE A SHARP CORNER WHERE THE CONCAVE SIDE MEETS THE TRAILING EDGE.THIS SHARP EDGE IS VERY IMPORTANT.THE WATER FLOWS OFF THIS SHARP EDGE.

IF THE CONER IS ROUNDED OR DULLED IT CAN SEVERLY AFFEECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PROP.

THE LAST STEP IS TOFILE ALONG THE TRAILING EDGE TO ENSURE A SHARP ,SQUARE SUFRACE.

hope that helped

the lonly hydro racer

p.s. must go to see if anyone help me !! buy
