Can anyone tell me the Dia and Pitch of this prop ? Supposedly its new and works well on a Supercat, but I have yet to try it...

Any opinions are much appreciated.! :)

Hey Big Jim, here are the numbers 72mm 2.84" 1.5 x 2.84 = 4.260 which I found on the prop chart. looking at the X572 which will be the same physical size as a Y572.

Did you all run yesterday? If so how did it go for Norm?

Jim, I think what you will find is that it's too much prop for the motor, unless a lot of work is done to the prop. A lot depends on the type of hdw. and where the strut is, either behind or up under the transom. 1667, 1475, h-50 are all good cat props with a little work to each, but the 270 prather works pretty good with a little sharp and balance.

Ron, Thanks for the information. No. We didn't go to the pond yesterday. We spent the day setting up two 45 size Roadrunners, one was Sterlings RoadRunner with a K45 and the other is Norm's Nightmare(hehe). We will get a handle on why its a fast boat for 100ft then get the retrieve boat out....LOL!

We are planning on having a big day at the pond on Saturday 2/19 if you want to come over....Bring some friends if you like. Everyone is welcome and I guarantee you'll not be disappointed. Maybe if Rod comes over this up coming week I'll have a new project boat to bring to the pond as well...

Thanks Mike B. I'll jot those numbers down. I should have mentioned, its a Offshore Supercat from Eddy Barnes #171, with a Midwest Full Mod'd 260 w/CC Racing full mod Carb(257) with a Midwest 2" band pipe 90 degree header and strut is underneath all Speedmaster hardware including the 3.75" offset rudder. Just picked up a 6717 from Bob Austin I'll try first then might work on this Y572 a bit to see how it goes. This boat will be work in progress for some time to come...

6717 works well with a full mod 260.

H667 moded works pretty good.

H50 with some work and playing is a good prop.

Takes time to dial that one in.

Im going to be trying a 6518 this spring.

Bob Austin just email him and tell him your setup and hes good at getting you a good prop. His props are real good.

Jim thanks for the invite but we have a race this coming weekend.

Wasnt that an Alice Cooper tune "Welcome to Norms Nightmare"? :D

Have fun!

The new Y572/3 has some serious pitch. Way more than the Octura formula suggests.

Could be great for some 35 cc Vee's and Cat's. If modified it will be good for 26 cc riggers and maybe some 26 cc monos if modified.
