Well now it seems to me that the fastest 67 in the world is a CMB at over 127mph & I was there to see it!!

Let's see your picco top that John. ;) Oh by the way the CMB 80 has been over 125 also.

IT'S ALL GOOD

Don :)

PS Mark Grim & I hold a record or two also. All with CMB power ;)

In doing some more research, I ran across a mention of the Picco Bluehead 67 EXR having a case that has a rod clearance groove????

My Bluehead (Square Case) does NOT have anything like this. Was this groove a Picco case variation or an aftermarket modification for rod stretch, longer rod, or better oiling?

In the last batch of the blue head 67s the botton end of the rod was bigger and required a grove in the case. J.ODonnell

127 with a CMB? How many did you have to buy to get one good one? Just teasing. You got me beat there. My Picco won't do 127. It's all good, like you say.

I guess if you get your motors put back together Clint you'll be going 100mph easily all day long.

I have to get to a SAW race sometime and at least see this type of speed! How fast do you think your twin was doing on the straight-aways?

It was still handling like a dump truck that weekend so I couldn't open it up. Mid to upper 70's MAYBE.

I guess I need to find me a couple Picco's so I can hang with the big boys.

I love these kind of threads, makes for very colorful reading. Picco's, CMB's, MAC's too, I've gone fast with all of them, most recently with stock MAC 84's in the twin at SAW, and there was still much more there. All 3 are good motors, there's no denying that but SETUP is the key. I won't matter what powers it if the setup ain't right. A first rate ride will make an average motor shine over a poorly prepped hull no matter how bad azz the motor is. It's all part of the TOTAL package. Always has been, always will be ............. Hey John,

This is just good olfashion fun!!! :D And you know what, that picco of yours would go just as fast in a saw boat that is set up right. ( not that yours is wrong)

It's just like Don F said it's all about the complete package. For the record it was Chris Grim that went 127 mph with that 67 CMB, not me. :(

Do you have a # for Joe W; He called, but did not leave a # to reach him???

Don :)

I love this stuff!!!...I got to say though CMB's are fast and easy to tune.I was goin 115/116 for the last 2 or 3 years with my MAC.84 and it was a good motor,Mark would say you need to get rid of that blue motor....so the last time I ran my CMB .80,the 1st pass was 117 1/2 throttle I couldnt belive how much more power the CMB had,it was way easy to get on the pipe....little tune-up and 125......just that easy!....now for a little more nitro!!! 130 comin up...yeah boy

CMB's kick a$$ Im with Don!
