Trying to locate a carb for a picco .67. I bought a new perry for it but I'm not happy with it. I read a old post about a kb carb that guys use to run on them. Anyone know where I can find one or what model it was? Needs to have a .65 in. Neck to fit this engine.

Ken,

Not sure if the k&b carbs I have are what your looking for but I have two. One is for the 7.5 and the other is for the .67, .82, .91. Both of these have a neck diameter of .625

Let me know can send you pictures if you like

Hey Ben,

Which PICCO 67? P67 or one of the 3 EXR versions?

Attached pic is an early EXR. Also Blue Head and Black head EXR.

Try Joe Warren on her - he may have some for you. CHEERS !!! Bob

You can sleeve the neck to the proper size with aluminum K&S tube and use JB weld or Loctite shaft and bearing mount to hold it on. It is best if you have a shrink fit on the sleeve but size on size will work. The Picco carbs work fine but they are so big and wide! I have taken a 5mm allen bolt and drilled it in the lathe and cross drilled to replace the needle to make it not as wide but then you need a remote needle.

I have used epoxy to hold the carb in place plus added a couple of 440 bolts by drilling and tapping the holes then cutting the bolts to length and blue lock tite. The carb will never move again.

If you want to make sure the carb is removable at a later point in time I have used silicon and 2Qt 440 bolts.

Hey Ben,

Do it right and take Jack up on his offer. He was the PICCO Importer in past years, after all. CHEERS !!! Bob

Did take Mr. Jack up on his offer, and thank you again!!! Getting close to having my Phil Thomas Bud ready and this engine is what I'm planning on using. Not sure how it will stack up against newer versions or a cmb, but it did impress the heck out of me in the atlas till the carb went south... Think I am going to try and find a race next year... Be a shame to have all these boats completed this winter and not take one to a race! Getting my driving down and learning about setup mostly now... Thank God I have permission from some nice land owners to use there ponds at will. A pond big enough for a scale hydro is not easy to come by.
