Can somebody please give me a needle setting to start off with, trying to get this engine to run properly. Ii/2 turns, 2 turns out? Running 20% nitro. It's for play and not for racing. Got it off Ebay and haven't got it to run yet. Starts, put in the water, loads the prop and dies. Thanks for any help

Make sure the fuel system has no restrictions , put a cleanable fuel filter in line before the needle , open needle up to 3 turns , start boat on bench with an external water source if possilble like a gallon jug with a jury rigged barb fitting in the bottom , start motor and give it throttle till you get a feel if its rich or lean . By this I mean if you can overspeed the engine on the stand , it's more than likely too lean . You want a situation to where you give it throttle slowly and you can almost hold it open , ALMOST !!!! , before it will clean out . At this point you should be able to throw it in the water and not die as long a s your prop is not to stout . Good luck and report results !!
