Parts From K&B

Do anybody have problems getting parts ordered from K&B?

I've only have had a tunnel for a month and would like to have some extra parts.

Like: prop shaft assy, flex shafts, gaskets, & maybe a extra connecting rod.

My Cousin just got his boat and broke a flex cable where is the best place to get one?

He also needs a prop shaft assy it has alot of play?

Where can I also get some new pins for the drive dog? Aren't they 1/16" pins?

The motor is a 3.5 K&B.

A good source of K&B parts is Gary Preusse at G&M Models. His phone number is (630) 279-2451. He does not have e-mail or a website. He does have many K&B parts.

Re:parts From K&B

This would be a good time for us all to buy our parts directly from K&B.

In this time with only K&B left trying to build complete motors, this is the time we should support them. How do we expect them to survive if we buy all our parts off of ebay at more than you would pay directly from K&B? I ordered a head, connecting rod and some flex shafts from K&B and it only took three days to get.

Yes they do not have complete outboards available yet or pistons and sleeves but they have almost everything else that you would need.

If we do not buy from them why would they continue to build them?

Just my 2 cents

Re:parts From K&B

Thank's for all the info. It's not easy to find all this stuff if you don't know where.

I have new question.

How do you tell what size crank you have?

My motor has a "L" stamped on the crank and my cousin has a 13 stamped on his.

Hi everyone,

I ordered a new crankcase for an old 3.5 [12mm] . Eight days later it was delivered to me in Canada. Dave has a good point, we should be supporting K&B Just my 0.02 ---------Don

Well I just got off the phone with K&B and ordered the items I needed. They gave me the arival time of 5 to 7 days (thats working days)

Re:parts From K&B

I agree that we should be supporting K&B but good deeds should be reciprocated and K&B has NOT done that. Despite their making decent engines and having a tremendous marketshare they have not supported us as they should. I've decided that if pistons/sleeves are not available by the end of the year I will be moving to a different engine manufacturer.

The question has been posed on this forum if anybody has received a new 7.5SS yet and there has been no positive reply despite K&B's site saying that they will be shipped in early summer.

I may be jumping the gun here but my prediction is that pistons/sleeves for common outboard engines will not be available for next racing season. My information is not based on any knowledge other than the track record of K&B and pieces of info I've gathered from this forum.

And THAT is my 2 cents (or was that 3?)

Re:parts From K&B

I've been able to get most parts for K/B with no problem except piston and sleeves. I even got a Pro Crankcase from them that surprised me. I have most of the other parts in stock, flexshafts and prop shafts as well. I also just bought out the parts that Terry Moore had from BoatSouth if any of you remember him. Give me a call and see if I can fix you up.
