I am after a new outboard starter after mine is starting to wear out.

I have had great success with a Graupner starter I have been using, but wanted to see first what else it out there. On the my current starter I added a thrust washer between the flywheel and the front housing, this seems to have helped save it from major punishment..

LMK what you guys have been using.

Looking at something like http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXL399&P=7 at the moment...Cheap and Nasty, but maybe OK??

I use the same one as in your link and it works just fine. The coiled cord is a little stiff but loosens up as you use it.

Kris, this is your last starter...

This is an AWESOME set-up. Easily lasts all weekend, and will crank .90 engines with no problem.

You can find the adapters here: http://www.afineredgemfg.com/

Thanks for the help guys, I think I will go for another Graupner starter as it worked well for me (at about $40US)...Postage for the sullivan means it is a $200+ starter for me, not really wanting to spend that much at the moment (on a starter anyway ;) )

Cheers

I use the Graupner starter for many years now, at this moment only OS.21 outboards, but it will start K&B .67 outboards with no pain to.

Kris,

I had that Hobbico starter and it would not turn over a new NR, and even when it was broken in but Tight, I went to a 24 volt set up to start them.

Cheers,
