Outboard Oilers

Looking to purchase a couple oilers for my 21 & 45 outboards. Who's making these right now and what styles are available? Thanks!

We just use a little boost bottle and drill a hole in the top of it to fill it up.

A small piece of fuel tubing and you are good to go. You can mount it on the motor

lug with a tie wrap or mount it in the hull. We run this set up on our O.S. XM's

and it is really simple and works very well. I have none in stock right now, but

they are on back order. I bought them for $20.00 each,$25.00 shipped to you Priority

Mail Service.

Ours is the same kind of set up, but we use a little boost bottle instead.

I have a couple ideas of oilers for mine.

One will need a small bracket and some soldering, the other would need a large fuel nipple added.

The first one is a 1/3 ounce "Perfect" brand fuel tank (now defunct but still plenty on ebay) or a current "ACME" brass tank. The fuel pickups have to be de-soldered and repositioned to work right in this case.

The second is an aluminum shock body used in rc offroad cars. It can use its own shock collar adjuster to mount to one of the lugs. A fuel nipple will have to be found large enough to thread into the shock rod hole in the bottom. The cap is sealed with an O-ring and has a very small vent hole.

well i got to toy around today and this is what i came up with......like to hear opinions,,,, to large,,to long???? just right???

measures .579 x 1.930 over all length from tip of nipple to the top of cap... the hieght could be squeezed down a touch with a smaller o-ring

i.d is .435 x 1" plus whatever depth the taper in the bottom is...

like to hear your thoughts....

Alden,

Mine looks very similar, but the middle of the outside

of the oiler is slotted for grip. We then use a pressure

clamp on it a with a ty-tie, then we fasten it to the motor lug.

Mine are on back order, so yours will be a hot ticket.
