I needed some cowl covers for my cat hull which will run twin brushless 3.5 K&B outboard legs. I am after a scale look to this project so I picked the K&B because they look close to scale compared to the OS leg. The hull was made by Evolution Rc, so I asked them if they could design a cowl cover for the K&B leg, they said no worries. Here are some pics of the progress of the design and build of the cowl covers.

Here is an update pic from Evolution Rc of how they are going with the design of my outboard cowl covers. Starting to take shape with the air vents being finalized and the exit points of the steering arms. Once we are happy with the final layout of the air vents and position, the mould will be made and a test cowl will be produced.

looks real good!!!
Cheers mate, yeh Jay from Evolution Rc has great skills in building from scratch, here is the cat hull I will run the twin outboards on. When the hull was layed up, Jay made some changes to the transom to beef it up for the twin outboards.

those do look awsome..... i like how you are keeping them scale... machine the k&b off the side of the lowers and that thing will look real close to the big boys... maybe even have the lowers anodized black,,, even easier,, polish them..... B) ........ very cool

Thanks mate, the cowls will be painted black with decals, i am thinking of painting the leg black to match the cowl and blend in to give a more scale look. It's all going to be a lot of trial and error to get something close to scale look I am after, all fun and games lol.

Wicked....... they will look sick on the back of your cat, what brand are your scale looking outboard going to be captain? B)

Here are some pics of the outboard, the outboard will sit a lot further back from the transom with the proper outboard mount installed. This will give you an idea of what it will look like, just need to get the decals sorted.
