Decided to put a brand new (OLD) OS Max engine into service this year instead of letting it sit another 20 years on the shelf and have hit the "no parts available" wall. I would like to know if anyone has run this engine before and what you did for an exhaust system.

The box had an aircraft style muffler included but I would like to add a tuned pipe. I did find a hobby shop with an exhaust adapter but after it arrived the 3/8 Diam piping has added another wall to get over.

Any help or offerings of those long retired parts would help greatly.

Macs Products should make a header for your engine. Where are you located, maybe someone local can give you a hand.

;) Yup, I too once ran that engine. Think the model you have is a : .21-SEM

Macs pipes in Sacramento once made headers for it that had a @ 15 degree up sweep angle. Macs pipe is at: (916) 456-6932 or FAX : (916) 456-7414

Good Luck. Scott

Hi

These are good little sport engines and go as good as a K&B. Make your own header - 1/8th flat steel/brass plate - drill row of holes to suit, file to neaten, copper plumbing elbow to suit pipe size. Squash end of elbow down to oval shape, refile it flat on the face and silver braze to plate. There you have it - that easy.
