Tom, don't panic. I found that I had left some fuel in a 4 stroke plane motor, and it looked the same way. I used some paint brush cleaner and just let the whole thing soak for a day or so. I tried everything else to cut the sluge, but what ever the stuff is that is in the brush cleaner was the only thing that would cut that muck out. If there was no water left in it the bearings should feel good after the cleaning, and be good to go again.

Hey Tom, You run out of afterrun oil? :p I know you forget but you always have to oil them up.

Sense you have that little 12 apart, Should open the crank up some, in prove flow and touch up the sleeve. you should chamfer the oil port on rod with a drill bit, alittle bigger and just touch it, make it alittle wider going in.

that will help get oil in there.

You may have to heat case as well to do bearings in and out.

Another way to clean it, is to put antifreeze in a small crock pot and let it soak for a day or two. It works really well! You can't put plastic parts in it though, and make sure the pets and kids can't get near it!

Dale P.

P.S. Don't use the crock pot for food any more when done! ;)

Good info on the antifreeze.

Another thing, Works GREAT as a cable lube, Like steer cables.

will not rust if moisture is in there. in the little tubes. and a few drops of atf. works good.

I found that the $1.35 cans of carb cleaner from auto zone will melt that goo away like butter. Its great for gettin rid of that last little bit of fuel residue in the tank at the end of the year too.
