This one just showed up on the web forum for the Norwegian Model Power Boat Association.

If you ever wondered what the view was if you were small enough to sit in your model boat, you can see it here:

Onboard camera

Regards,

Stein

Stein,

Thanks for the ride. I thought that was really something, did you see all

the flex and rocking side to side. I guess the boom tubes take a beating.

Thanks Again,

That was pretty cool, I have always thought about doing that on a boat.

I have see the cameras, never did it. what a ride, and YES the Booms and sponsons take a beating thats for sure.

Tom

You know looking back, that water was pretty flat he was running on, I cant imagine how the booms and sponson flex on the rougher water i run on with mine.

Nooo wonder why **** comes loose.

Tom

That was really neat now try and aim the camera behind the boat off one of the sponsons and you'll be right there with NASCAR coverage. Especially if you have another boat running with you.

The guy doing the videos says on the Norwegian forum that he plans to add more angles, like backwards etc.

I'm fitting a spare cowling for my SGX84 with a color camera even smaller than the one he used. Should be very cool to see the video. :D

Yes there ARE cameras that is smaller then this one. Even as small as 2x2x2 cm with at buildt in transmitter. BUT these cheap small cameras has a CMOS image.

Mine has a CCD image. i first bought a cmos camera but it is not fast. Everything is kind of blury, and it needs a lot of light too work. They are also not water-ressistant. This camera is not really wireless but i buildt in a reciver and a mic and glued it all together. this way it is 100 % water-resisstant. more info HERE

On land i have the reciver, connected too a DV-videocam with video inn.

By the way. the camera was bought HERE

Transmitter, reciver and mic is not included.

Dave Frank did a on board video back in about 92'. He did not have access to all the small cameras of today. He made a special box that he mount his 8mm video camcorder in. It was sealed and strapped to the deck of his sport 40. He took it pretty easy around the course and was passed by a few other boats. It was during open water. It was cool back then even if he wasn't on it.

Hey Mike I have a video that Dave Frank made and it has that in it..I got it at the Nats in 92 in Seaside...

Every year at the hobby show we run that tape. The people get a kick out of that and the (Smash, Crash, and Row) video too.

Oh man very cool. Imagine doing that on a tunnel.
Looking forward to the other angles.
I've got all the equipment together to put it in a tunnel boat. We're going to lay up one of our boats custom for this purpose. We will, of course, post back when it's done.
