to put in a time frame drew, part of my .10 cent allowance was washing my mom's '56 chevy convertible. early on in miami, 'bout 57-59 era. price doesn't change the fun factor to her though ;) :D !!

Mike, i hope i doesnt end until i take my last breath! All that stuff basically kept my ass out of trouble, unlike some of my friends that i hung around with...... I do get a kick out of the prices of things like models......i could buy an AMT funny car kit for a buck fifty when i was a kid.....a Cox Babee .049 was, i think about 4.95...rubber band powered balsa planes were less than a buck.....but a 4 channel r/c airplane radio was still about 400 dollars!

I had a few of those planes, paid less than 50 cents for them, even the rubber powered ones. I also still build plastic models, time allowing. I remember when I could buy a 1/72 scale airplane kit for under $5, now they're $25+ for the cheapest ones. Cost me $70+ to buy some 1/48 scale models this year as well, included an A-6E, EA-6A and EA-6B, totalled up to somewhere in the $250+ range all told by the time the Governor got her cut.
