Hello Guys,

For those guys that don't look at the "FE toy boats" (lol) I thought I'd show off my new cat. The class it runs in is Unlimited Offshore, we run 4 minutes for as many laps as possible.

This cat is 42 1/2 inches long with a 12 inch beam, she will be run on 32 cells.

Hi Paul

Nice looking boat and very nice looking glasswork. I guess I can understand why it would need to be that big to carry all those batteries. LOL

Who made the hull?

GT ;D

Rodney,

I think you could put a 21 in it but it's a bit small. sport 20 really need to be 28-31inch long. A good 15 would make it go though.

GT ;D

[email protected],

A .15 would work great in that hull, I see your in Pacifica, if you ever want to come over and see what the "Darkside" of electric racing is all about, click my sig or email me, we race at Kaiser Cove in Fremont and Heather Farms in Walnut Creek. I also race a viper if you just want a closer look at one. Randy (Mr. BBY) Naylor has a .15 in an electric sport hull he brings to the races from time to time.

Dan,

Yeah I race at Kaiser Kove. We should hook up there one time.

I had a friend buy one of Randy's lobster boat for a sport .40. It was rough and then some. Little too expensive and too much work left to be done to buy one from him. Or has he gotten better w/the glass work?? The little Lobster boat from that site had me thinking that would make a kickin' little project for some fun.

Randy doesn't make the Viper, it's made in Germany by Hydro & Marine and imported by Fine Design, see the link above. The quality of the Viper is top notch and comes gel coated in a few colors if you don't like to paint. The hull is 24" long.

Randy is getting better and slowly been improving all his molds and plugs, I'm not sure if he has on the Winston Lobster boat or not yet. I love that hull design, but they are hard to setup and not be tail draggers. If you run the rear sponson, it's a lot easier.

If you look at the bottom of this page http://www.bbyracing.com/elechydrohulls.asp at the War Eagle 12 Cell scale Hydroplane, it's his newest one, I'm sure it has improved over the early Sport 40 versions. He has his personal one at the shop in Concord, so you could take a drive over to check it out, he's there almost every Saturday there isn't a race.

I'll be at Kaiser Cove more often next year, I'm building a 1/8 scale electric and I'll be doing a lot of testing there. We should also have all of our races on the Dist. 9 site next year. Were a small club so we run all are races in 1 day. I'll add you to our mailing list if you like?

Dan did you race at Shadow Cliffs during the Elec Nat there? And did you have that little Bud there? ...I helped Randy on Sat...Was verry impressed with the speeds of those elec...And can't waite to see your Scale run...Roy

Hi Roy, yup that was my boat. We met a few times at Kaiser Cove and at the E-Nats at Shadow Cliffs. At shadow cliffs you should remember me, I was the one running franticly from the pits to the judges stand all day and by Saturday I would have looked like I hadn't slept for 4 days! I'm also the commodore of the DMWB and until Tom filled I was head judge, CD & announcer! ;) I wish I could have spent more time talking to you guys, but as you could see we were really shorthanded. A big thanks to you, Roy and all the other nitro racers from Dist. 9 who helped us out, we couldn't have done it without your help!

I'm looking forward to seeing my 1/8 scale electric on the water myself! I would like to sit and talk with you some time about the class.

BTW: If you talk to Peter, could you ask him to email me his address so I can send him some $$ for the rudder. Thanks!

Dan,

It's early Sunday morning. I'm up so give me a call. Let me know what time your coming over.

RG

Yeah I know Randy doesn't make the Viper. I was refering to his Winston Lobster.

GTR and Paul,

Your not kiding about that Bud boat being small. Dan brought his over this weekend and it's tiny. Very nice boat though for electric.

Wish I didn't have that bug up my butt to buy the Lobster boat to fart around with. I've seen some nice .15's lately......

Hey rcboats2,

The H&M lobster boat is pretty nice and quite a bit larger. My bud Dennis Whitt has one and it was FAST. If you pick one up I don't think you'll be disapointed.

Paul.

Paul,

Do you think you could get him to e-mail me a picture of the inside?? Looks like I could jerry rig a 4 inch mount into it or do like the riggers and run the nylon bolts through it.

Thanks,

RG 8)

Hey Dan any time you want to talk just give me a call ;) ...Peter and I were also thinking about a FE 1/8 Shovel nose 8)..We layup some with carbon fiber that weight 3 lbs ;D..I think I spoak to you about my 1/8 Thriftway..We're in the prosses of re doing the plug and doing another mold with some improvements that we found to help this hull speed wise... and also to simplyfy the building of the boat....Roy

Okay I see how you are Roy, you'll sell a shovel nose to the electric guys but not me huh?? 'fraid I'll beat you w/your own boat. HEHEHEHE ;D ;D ;D

Just kidding.

Dan,

Roy does good work.
