WOW- Sure hope all the fans are okay. THAT WAS UGLY -

There becomes a point , even as a fan, it aint worth all that.

HATE the plate tracks.

When an engine and tire go through the fence you knew it had to be nasty. You could see something big coming 2 laps before that as they were just doing some insane racing at the front.

A BIG one! Kyle Larson's car went up onto the fence, part-way through with at least a tire and engine just on the other side of the wall. No report yet on if or how many spectators were injured.

28 fans injured, 14 treated & released. 2 injured critically, being called 'stable' this morning. i came close at daytona once. ernie ervin's hood landed about 3 seats to my right years ago. if you have ever seen the catch fence & cables at the track, you'd be amazed that anything could get through it. it has been an ongoing issue, & has been updated & replaced a few times now. not sure anything short of a solid wall would do the job.....racing carries some level of risk for EVERYONE at the track. i've gone home with small cuts from dirt chunks thrown up by late models & sprint cars, i don't sit so close to the fence anymore!

No fan's injuries are being called life threatening anymore. the 2 with head trauma will be held for observation for 48 hours & are expected to be released at that time. nascar will issue a full update at 9:30 this morning.
