No I said it Right Robin. When Finch starts talking and working on boats I actually shut up, watch and listen. Same is true with a bunch of others. Last year Marty Davis was watching me struggle with a B Hydro and he was pitted next to me at the Fall Nats. Marty says, "ummmmmmmmmmm You might want to come see this" I did and I have it written down. Same goes with Finch last year at Greensboro. Gavin had an ornery 20 mono and I asked for help caues I had had it with this boat. Finch, Sutton and Speas looked at it and said, Why are the trim tabs on it. My answer was, Because they were on it when we bought it used. Took em off and it got better. Not good but better. Finch looks at it for a while and says, " mind if I make an adjustment?" Of course not! So we loosten the strut and Finch turns the boat on it's back on the ground and steps on the strut, says,"Lock it down". Threw the baot back in and it was ALOT Better. Then John sats, "Got any thick Super Glue?" Of Course we do! A bead of Super Glue on the back edge of the hull and the boat ran like I had never seen or imagined it would run.

The moral of this story is, Pay Attention and don't rule out any possibilities!!

:)

i understood what you said & meant, scott. i feel the same way about john, steve (both of them), don & quite a few others we race with here in d-12. but i meant what i said, too. but, i see you take notes. realizing you have CRS is half the battle B) ........

You guys are a trip! It's all in fun, and it's guys like you that make it that way. I do have a 1/8th scale Circus Circus ready to race if we need another scale boat for the race. Just let me know if you need me to bring it along. Oh no..........it's nitro powered. Can it be that I would run nitro again? You bet!!!!!!

you're right about the fun factor, john. i've raced full scale boats, cars (both drag & dirt roundy round), r/c cars & trucks (nitro & electric), but r/c boats has got to be the most fun out of all of them. sure, it's serious, but everybody goes out of their way to help each other, & enjoy the weekend. not so much, in all other forms of motorsports. that's why look foward to each race, every year. thanx to everyone i compete with for helping make it that way!!! see ya at the pond......

My registration form is going out in the morning mail Monday.

B mono and hydro

Preston, would love to see an update on F Hydro Entries before I spend 6 hours setting this thing up for no reason.

Thanks,

Scott

I'll get an update on classes not filled but I am not about to type in 100 entries on here. I am sure many entries will be received this week as always and all classes will be filled.

As of 11:00 Monday night

Classes not filled - # of contestants

Novice - 2

1/8 Scale - 2

F Hydro - 2

Crackerbox/Skiff - 2

RTR .18 - 1

30 contestants

102 boats

As president of ODMBA and considering that awards are already paid for, I say that to race there must be at least 2 boats. So as of now all classes will race except for RTR and I am sure I can fix that somehow. If you would like to quote District 12 rules or anything of the such, then you know what to do.

Good Deal!! I'll get to work finishing the Green Monster! Preston, I had a little accident with it last year and am doing a reconstruction/rebuild on it. It has a nose now and new sponsons from Ralph so it'll take a slow old man about 6 hours to finish it for sure.

LAST YEAR! OMG I thought I was slack.

Just a thought for District 12.

At this point the ODMBA race has 100 entries. Yes more will come. But I went back to 2001 when we had 92 entries and 16 classes. Some classes did not fill. However, even though there were only 92 boats the number of classes still made it good racing. One class had 15 entries. Now with 21 or 22 classes offered, 100 boats spreads pretty thin. Do the math. You will see MANY 3 & 4 boat heats/classes.

The number of classes offered in the district needs to be reduced a little or combine some current classes. We all know how people feel about 3 & 4 boat heats. I would love to see good racing in 22 classes but it does not seem like that will happen. Maybe other clubs have had different results.

We'll see. Maybe I am off base.
