Friends, my latest order just got here with a few new goodies:

- The Direct Drive .46 motors are here...price is $450, headers are $35.

- I also got a few of the 35Plus 14.5mm crank motors with the car timed sleeves (these are just like Martin Truex set the latest oval record with). $395

- shop towels $4

- Aprons $30

Plus all the other stuff...

Thanks!

Glenn

The .46 Novarossi outboard got one good run through the traps, before the water went away. The engine was rich and had the smallest prop on it. I managed a 3.5 second pass. The record is 2.99 seconds. I am confident that I can take the record for Novarossi. Can't wait for the next record trial!

Bob, that is awesome! I'm glad to hear the new case is working. We are still trying to figure out what happened to the other one.

Glen,

Please let us all know once you guys figure out what happened to Bob's case so we will know if we need to change or be aware of anything. Thanks.

Ron, I sure will. At this point neither Nova or I can see anything obvious... there are no flaws in the casting and all of the machining looks perfect (everything was dead center in the casting). This is the only case they had heard of having a problem. Right now the investigation is looking at the OB conversion...I think crank balance may be the biggest concern now.

I would say run the heck out of them and if another one happens then it will make the problem solving a little easier.

Crank balance was my concern. I will try to compare the balance ratio of the conversion crank and the stock crank over the next few weeks and see if there is any difference. If so, this could be the issue and would simply take matching the two cranks to balance the exact same amount of weight from the crank pin. Thanks Glenn.

Ron, let us know what you find out when you compare the cranks.
