Never fun when that happens,,at least it went in circles.. A fail safe is handy in those OMG moments.. Pull the receiver apart and let it dry good.. Should be ok.. See guys spraying corrosion x on the receiver boards to inhibit moisture. I use a coat of dielectrical grease,, paint on a layer with a acid brush then re-case them..the grease does the same thing, inhibits moisture..

Be sure the balloon doesnt have any holes in it.then make sure you get a good seal around the wires. A rubber band wrapped tight around there should do it.

As wierd as it sounds,, put a tampon or paper towel in the radio box,,it will attract the moisture and hold it there..

I put a paper towel on the bottom i know there isnt much room in there but i also use a bag around the battery and reciever

Byron,

since your in BC, you may have a hard time finding the Corrosion X on our side of the border but there is a similar product that does the exact same job and which I use. It is called "Corrosion Block", you can spray it everywhere in your receivers, servos, battery connectors, switches etc. etc...

Great product.

Dan.

Byron,

you be much better off using Corrosion Block instead of Epoxy.

you should find it at any good Marine supply shop.

You would be better off chasing down the source(s) of the leak before you start spraying stuff on your electronics. To test the radio box, remove it from the boat and with the top off, submerge it without the top until the upper edge is just barely above water. Watch carefully for leaks. Most of the time, the culprit is one of the pushrod seals. As I've shown myself on far too many occasions, the radio boxes on my boats are dry enough that they can survive sitting upside down for an entire heat.

I totally agree Chuck,

a Dry box is a must.

even if my boxes are dry I still have my gear protected with Corrosion Block for that one time something lets go after a flip, and those one time happens more than once.

I use electrical tape at the end of the balloon openning so the water/moster gets in it..I tape it shut.some guy use tie straps..
