ok here is the news..the shop i worked for burnt down last week on sunday night, so the is the start of the second full week without work..i think i may have a job tomorrow for more than i was making and the hours suck worse..but it is one of them 3 days 12 hours , then the next week 4 days at 12 hours ..rotating schedule from night to days and anyother way they can jack up your social life. but it will pay the bills..and that will now force me to sell off most of my boats and get to a reasonable level and be even faster with what i have left..good day and this is the news.

Dang Terry, what kind of shop was it? Any idea what caused the fire? Sorry to hear this. Guess it could be worse, you did find a job rather quickly. With a new mouth to feed that is important! James Beasley

awesome to hear mike!!! i know a way if you get any spare time to make a extra hundred..lol thanksI got some. I lost my job back in mid november. I ended up working a bunch of electrcial side jobs to keep things moving around here. About a month later I received an email from the HR gal from my old shop. She had receive an email looking for 2 electrcians to help out on a job for 1.5-2 weeks. I ended up calling the guy and he put me to work the next day. This job was so behind. My 3rd day there, the lead got fired for not showing up and he turned it over to me.This was just before the 2 holiday weeks. The medical clinic need to be open for business on Jan 4. Plus there was no OT. We were working at 120% (Thanks Rockstar) and filling the 4 day weeks with 40 hours. Had to bring in an extra 3 guys to get it done. Got it done on new years eve. I would come home and just collapse into bed every night. The worst three weeks I have ever spent working. The worst part was if I had started the project, it would have run smoothly and been done early. Some of the stuff the guy did just took up so much time. There was better ways to do it. The owner decided to keep me on after that project and I am running a gut remodel of some section 8 housing in downtown Seattle. Should be done in May. Also looks like he might have a 200 unit multifamily building starting in May as well. So the future looks good.
Mike
BTW had to take a $5 pay cut with no beenies. After this remodel is done, the owner and I are going to have a talk about the pay. I am expecting it to come under the hours budgeted.
