I give up,

The cowl is a early tidewater eagle cowl. So to be clear the Jag cowl is also a copy.

I have a JAG 3 on order, I have waited 2 years for it and I still havn't got it.

Julian. No disrespect but I am not sure you have seen or run anywhere near the amount of twins I have going all the way back to the early 80's running the twin K@B 67 TWINS.

i HAVE AND NEVER WILL COPY A BOAT.

I think I have at least 7 twins at last count.

Julian,

Come over here bring your best and we will be waiting.

rodney when you race twins and see them from day to day and you look at this you will be like wow looks familiar..
Julian my friend, Im not disputing that it may or may not look similar to something else. But every boat designer uses something from another boat in one way or the other. Whether its shoe design, AOA, tub design, profile, etc etc etc. Thats all I was getting at. And none the less, looks like Paul has done an excellent job on the boat.

good for you Mr Stirton happy testing.. as far as me going there it would be nice but you want some competition the best twins are here in the USA come get some... nice boat by the way ;-)

the boat does look great tho. looks nice should be fast

Paul

Great looking boat. what dose the sleeve look like on those eng. I see there is a separate part # for those P/L sets.

Was wondering what the difference is?

David

Thanks Rodney for your coments.

I was just trying to show of a boat that has taken nearly 2 years to design and build. We have been trying to get a better handling twin for our conditions over here.

I am very happy with how it came out. We have actually designed a different cowl but making a cowl mould is a painfull proceedure.

With as long as we've been racing boats, there's not much you could do to make it not look similar to something that has been built before. Great looking boat by the way. The Eagle/Jag cowl has always looked good.

Nice looking Twin Paul!

LOL...That cowling is so old Noboby knows where it came from!!!

Actually it's a 1992 CMDi Twin 90 Eagle cowl. John, Donna and I made the plug for that cowl. The first single engine CMD Eagles were sold in 1991. The Eagles were sold through Tidewater the one year that I worked there (1994). Hence the term Tidewater Eagle. I also designed the original Jag that year and used the Eagle cowl on it as well. John Brown Won US-1 with the .67 Jag two years in a row (1994-95).

In 1996 we built the first Eagle SG (Second Generation) and I won US-1 with a K-90 powered 80 SG in 1996. A similar K-90 powered 80 SG just won X hydro at the Orlando Winter nats (2012). A great boat/motor combo for 16 years!

Pictured below is a 1992 Twin CMB 90 GP powered Eagle with the cowl that has now served many boat designs over the last 20 years.

I set the IMPBA SAW record at the 1993 Internats with a similar Twin 90 Eagle that was powered with Picco Hydro 90's and the same MACS 15cc pipes that Paul has on his new twin. First pass was 91 mph. Backed it up with 88mph for a new record of 89+ mph in 90 degree Summer heat. Used the Heat race props (ABC 67X114) Copies of 1667's. The Twin 90 Eagle pictured below won heat racing that year.....seems like I got 2nd or 3rd with the Picco powered Twin.

Just a note! That white CMB 90 powered twin had T slots/piston ports that I hand cut into the P/L's....just like the Camillo CMB 90's! ;)

The last time I checked Bill Annabel was Australian. I guess it doesn't matter that he's won those big races in the US, even after a flight to get there. Ask around - I bet you'll find a few guys that have had their azzes handed to them by Wild Bill.

Right on Tim! Bill and a bunch of others from Oz have some Smokin fast twins!

Great looking boat Paul. I have know Wild Bill for years and he is like all of us true old boat builder/racers. You make a cut here and you make a cut there does not say that you have copied a boat but the angles that you use under the boat and the way you use them is what makes the boat. I have used cowls that I have had off of older boats and have made plugs that sort of look like other boats cowls. It take years to get a twin right and many boats to get there. And some time you can get lost in the middle and have to make a big turn. I have built about two boats a year for the pass twenty years for Doc and myself with changes on every one. There have been good boats and there have been boats that were good but average. I wonder what they would say this boat is copied after. This is my current boat style with the old style cowl and two pictures of the new style cowl.

Twin racing in Australia is hot and heavy and those guys can run with anybody.

A couple of years ago I entered a race in Australia. It was held at the Olympic rowing facility. I was a spectator when the twins ran.

The biggest hydro class was Twin. Full heats, not just 2 or 3 boats per heat.

Good racing, good sports, and great fun.

Al that was 2008. Maybe you remember that I crashed the first twin 90 tiapan in practice that race. Destroyed the boat and the boat ended up in the car park on the other side.
