Yeah, well I deliberately designed that cowl to make down force, so when it came off it was a p[roblem. A bigger problem was the tank followed straight after making the boat very light at the front and over she goes....
Then I went to the EMS style cowl clips and never had the cowl come off again!!

I think all the HP's have always had needle roller top ends, I had one of the first batch (Which was actually a bit more than 15cc!) and it had needles, but the older LS's or what-ever they were called back then had bushed rods. You may still be able to get them.
The only problem I can see with the top end needles is if they are run way too lean (over-heat, but so does the big end, look at your old rods I sent you!) or if there is detonation. If there is detonation the needles pound into the surface hardening of the rod. My A100 rod which blew had signs of that.
Change the mono motor to the same specs as those twin motors for even more fun! B) See Jerry has released a new larger mono for 90's and 100's? 44" long. Might even take an A100!
