It’s going to be really close but if I don’t like it, plan B will be to build a saltwater intake and conceal the top of the plug that way.

I’m hopeful that with the engine being as far forward as I’m putting it, the boat won’t be flighty at all. Also looking at the engine sitting in the boat with a cowl right next to it, if I have to do anything it will be very little and I should be able to hide it without doing anything major. I’m feeling pretty good about all of it right now but should know something for sure in a few weeks after I get the cowl that I ordered for this boat and I can start cutting on it to fit it to the boat. There is also enough meet on the bottom of the cowl to allow me to fudge it some there as well. That should get me a little extra height as well but we will see. It all has to still look good and proportional when all is said and done.
I’m sure before I’m done someone will not like something I did and get all upset about it.

This is the same cowl that I have ordered but it’s for a Snell hull that I’m building for someone else.

Started glueing the bottom, back of the hull on so everything stays square while I work on the engine area. The hardest part for me is waiting on the glue to dry!
