Whats different between the hot rod motor and the regular 12 motor?

Thanks Tom
Hey TOm, yes like Anthony said, they are completely different motors. I guess the biggest difference is the crank...it is bigger and has all the bells and whistles. These are the motors that both Martin and Kentley have set all of the current .12 records with.

I think the crank may be an item that we overlook for performance improvements. Mainly for the NR type .21 engines anyway.. IT's really hard to modify that hardened steel though..

Glenn, I ran my .21 muffled pipe again this past Sunday, and is was awesome! They are super quiet and perform nicely.

Plus, no one is going to start a fight with you in the pits because you can pull your pipe off and club them!

Yeah Jeff, I agree! A few weeks ago i was amazed at watching Brian Buass set the new NAMBA heat race record with his...they sound really nice and of course are very fast! It was the first time I was around one of these pipes running on someone else's boat so I could really hear it.

What is the price of the Hot Rod motor and can the crank be bought alone to achieve the performance of the new motor?

Thanks Tom

Tom the new motor is $250 (I hate having to ask this much, but these high end on road motors are just expensive and this is as cheap as I can make it). Yes I can get just the cranks, but they don't fit the original 5 port .12 motors.

Glenn, how much are you getting for the .21 muffled pipe.

Thanks

Can you get a piston for the .21 keep on? The PTO screws came loose and the piston skirt hit the PTO and shattered. I read something about a problem with the screws. This is on Rick Glovers motor.

Bob, I have only heard of this happening on Ricks 46 motor and I sent him a brand new engine. I also sent the correct length pto screws to a few other people who had the incorrectly assembled motors. I have not heard of any problems with the Keep .21. But I guess the answer to your question is no I can not get just pistons.
