New mod-vp

First hull pulled from the mold. The gel coat Is a little thin because of the first time I was using a differant mixture and the seam Is ok but, all and all she came out ok for the first few parts. A tad heavy IMNO... at 2lbs. The next one will be lighter. The bottom Is dull from wet sanding.

25" designed for OB or IB nitro or electric power. Also I made a plug for a dummy cover of a new style offshore mrec.

There are alot of people that want one but, I can't keep up making them part time.

I think I will put this one on ebay and let It go.

BTW... I hear mark makes a very nice hull!

Oh no, I'm not giving up on making the hulls. I was saying that I will not be able to spit them out and I was going to let the first hull sell on ebay maybe.

I would not sell it on ebay I would sell it to someone on here that way you know it will get set up and run. And that way we can see how it performs. Just my 2 cents. btw it looks cool.

I have a lawless leg I can put on It. I just need to fab a couple parts for the electric motor to mount. It ran on the pad really well with Inboard power and a stinger drive.

Anyone have the steering parts for the lawless 3.5 leg?

I was going to post the link at the boat sites. I will be making another this weekend or sooner.

Is the HTB a mod-vp? Also Is there another longer length that would be recomended?

HTB's are tunnels. 28'' - 31" are where most of the competetive tunnels are ending up. much shorter, and they get to be a handful in heat racing, with rougher water, imho. james at oval express should be able to fix you up on the steering, but he's closed 'til after the tunnel champs............ he will have all his inventory with him, didn't you say you had a buddy going up there? he could pick the stuff up, if you can wait.

Yeah, i should be able to hook you up. I have an order of lawless stuff coming in as well. Let me know if I can help. Hull looks good, maybe a little longer will be better. The Mod V's are getting much faster now, so it will need to be able to handle to speed.

Cool... I have been thinking about building a hull or two Inbetween the 25" and 40" I have allready built. Only testing will tell. James I will be e-mailing you. I need a few parts. I was thinking around 30" How long Is mark pooles hull?

Thanks Mark! I have no Idea with a OB what It will do on that size pad... I started building this hull as a novelty @ 1/10 scale with Inboard electric power for a easy build In my eyes. I am not much on nitro and never ran one. I just need to convert my lawless leg to take the electric motor to test It out.

Andy, I don't know that I have one. I can tell you that 12 nimh or two 4s packs will fit with a brushless motor, servo and receiver pack fit In this hull. I made It just for 4s1p. A stinger outdrive with 4" setback rudder.

as you know, derrick, i won one of mark poole's mod vp's at the tunnel champs. i'd love to have one of yours to run with it. my son & i each will have a mod vp that way . the more of them we can put on the water, the better chance we have of getting it as a sanctioned class, imho.......
