I have a JAE 45 that is the boat from hell. I made the mistake of buying it partially built. That was a mistake. My question is, What changes in location should the engine and fuel tank should there be from the original JAE since it is what, 3 inches longer? Thanks, Tom Galdys

Tom the boom tube location, fuel tank area and bulkheads are the same. The engine is moved back to within 5/8" of the boom tube, that would be the carb intake on a CMB VAC motor. To mod your boat you can add 3" to the transom area to match the stretch JAE. Lastly you can contact Zipp kits and Joe will sell you the new ski which is a must . I just did one for a friend and the boat is running well. Have fun, the JAE fleet are great boats and do well in heat racing. Tim

Hi Tim, Thanks for the reply. I have the original size JAE already and my short kit for the longer version just arrived. Are you certain that the set up from the flywheel forward is the same as the shorter version? Thanks, Tom

Yes I matched the 2 boats up. That 5/8 measurement moves the engine back from the short version boat. If you have the new short kit just match the sides together and you will see. Have fun.
